Why Study Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a dynamic combat sport that combines striking, grappling, and submission techniques from a wide range of martial arts disciplines.

By prioritising skill, speed, and strategic technique over sheer force, MMA empowers fighters to overcome larger opponents and excel in both competition and self-defence.

MMA training is built on the understanding that real-world altercations can shift rapidly from striking exchanges to ground battles. This comprehensive approach equips athletes with the ability to control every phase of a fight—whether standing or on the ground—making MMA one of the most versatile and practical systems for self-defense available today.

Students must develop proficiency in striking, clinch work, grappling, and submission techniques to secure dominance in the cage. Even if competition isn’t the goal, MMA offers remarkable benefits in overall fitness, endurance, and mental toughness.

Beyond physical improvements, the sport fosters a supportive community where training partners inspire and challenge one another, creating an environment that is both empowering and transformative..

What Will My First Class Look Like?

Congratulations! You just submitted your free class request. If you didn’t already specify a date and time, one of our team will contact you to do so. They’ll also contact you the day before to confirm you're still OK to attend.

If you’ve never done MMA, your first class will be one of our Fundamentals classes. Before class, you get a 30-minute orientation session with a coach where you’ll learn the basics: bowing onto the mat, MMA focus, and common positions and movements.
